Hello Paw Parents!

I am Kaycee, owner and trainer at Paws for Applause LLC. I began my animal career working with horses before transitioning to canine companions. I am fueled by my passion for understanding canine behavior and building confidence and trust for a happy owner-dog relationship. I consider myself a "furever student," eager to build on my knowledge of canine psychology and behavior, and stay up-to-date on different training techniques to ensure that every dog gets the training that is best suited for them.

I have worked with animals for most of my life. I started with training horses and decided to transition to dogs because I wanted to give my own dogs a better, more fulfilling life. I have worked with dogs of all ages, from puppies 3 months old to senior dogs, and of all different breeds, from French Bulldogs to Great Danes. I have helped dogs with different behavioral issues like anxiety, fear or over excitement. If you are struggling with any of the above or just need a helping hand creating a better bond, I would love to help you achieve your goals!

Paws for Applause story...

Paws for Applause LLC began as a dream to help improve the bonds between dogs and their owners. We make sure that dogs come first. We prioritize dogs health and well being which is why Paws for Applause is run out of our house. Large kennels and boarding facilities can be stressful for some dogs. By having them in a lower distraction environment we can focus on training and building confidence before putting them in more stressful, higher distraction situations. This also allows us to give more one-on-one attention.

When we first began we wanted to challenge the way other companies train dogs by putting more of an emphasis on owner education. We believe it is important for owners to have a basic understanding of canine communication and know how to work with their dog to be successful. While a professional dog trainer can give your dog a solid foundation, unless you know how to implement the training at home they will eventually resort back to where they were before training. This is why we teach you how to set boundaries, how to help your dog through stressful situations and how to settle down in higher distraction environments.
